Joseph W. “Wes” Branstetter (BSBA ’06, MBA ’08) is a proud and loyal alumnus of The University of Tulsa. He has many warm and wonderful memories of his college days at TU including the superior education he received in his business studies, the enduring friendships he made through his membership in Sigma Chi Fraternity, and the many exciting Golden Hurricane athletic events he attended.
After graduation, Wes launched a successful career, utilizing the knowledge he gained in his studies and the business networking contacts he developed at TU to work at Superior Pipeline Company. Wes deeply appreciates the support and encouragement of his grandfather, W. W. “Wally” Branstetter, Jr., who took Wes to many TU football and basketball games as a child. Wally is an avid and loyal fan of TU Athletics and has been a member of the Golden Hurricane Club since 1985.
Wes credits his grandfather with inspiring his interest in TU through the many happy experiences they shared while attending athletic events, and he wants to provide scholarship assistance to deserving TU student-athletes on the men’s basketball and soccer teams. As a part of TU’s Pioneer Program and in tribute to his grandfather, Wes has established a life insurance gift to create two endowments at TU: the Wally Branstetter Scholarship Endowment Funds for Student-Athletes.
