Tom and Anita Wertz believe in “paying it forward,” and they did so with enthusiasm when they created an endowed scholarship fund to honor their son and his accomplishments at The University of Tulsa.
Bryan Jacob Wertz (BS 2013; Mechanical Engineering) is a loyal alumnus of The University of Tulsa who launched a successful career in the energy industry in Houston, Texas, and later in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His wife, Megan Carol Kirby Wertz (BS 2013; Management) also is a proud TU graduate. Bryan and Megan have many wonderful memories of their experiences at TU, both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities, and they were successful students, both graduating cum laude.
Tom and Anita Wertz continue to appreciate the quality education and the scholarship support that Bryan received at TU, and in 2018, the couple wished to create a scholarship fund to give other students the opportunities their son enjoyed.
The Bryan Jacob Wertz Scholarship Fund provides need-based support to students in any major at TU, helping to place a quality TU education within reach of deserving students. The University of Tulsa is proud that its Bryan Wertz Scholars will earn degrees and launch successful careers for generations to come, thanks to the help of this philanthropic family.
