The Robert Glenn Rapp Foundation has been a magnanimous philanthropic partner to Oklahoma’s institutions of higher education, supporting endowed scholarships, professorships and building programs at several institutions since the foundation was established in 1951. Three generations of the Milligan Family of Oklahoma City have been steadfast stewards of the mission and values of the Robert Glenn Rapp Foundation, supporting initiatives, projects and programs that continue to improve the quality of life of Oklahomans.
The speech-language pathology program in the Oxley College of Health Sciences at The University of Tulsa (TU) is widely recognized for academic excellence, with students receiving clinical experience through TU’s Mary K. Chapman Center for Communicative Disorders by providing assessment services for speech, language and hearing disorders under the supervision of faculty members.
The demand for qualified speech-language pathologists is expected to increase significantly for several years as the baby boomer population ages. In recognition of this trend and the subsequent need, the Robert Glenn Rapp Foundation took steps in 2017 to provide scholarship opportunities to students pursuing a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at TU, establishing the Robert Glenn Rapp Foundation Endowed Scholarship for Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Students.
For many years to come, countless students in TU’s speech-language pathology program will fulfill their aspirations thanks to this generous gesture. The University of Tulsa is deeply grateful to the Robert Glenn Rapp Foundation for recognizing and addressing this growing healthcare need in our state.
