Norman Lee Conger (BS ’52) was a proud and loyal alumnus of The University of Tulsa, who launched a successful career in engineering physics after graduating from TU. He worked for Continental Oil Company many years, living in Ponca City, Okla., and Denison, Texas, for most of his professional life.
Norman married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Lucille Conger (1933-2011), in 1950, and the couple was happily married for more than 60 years. They devotedly raised three children: Alan Conger, Norman Conger and Debra Conger Cross.
Norman passed away in December of 2010 at the age of 80, and his family continues to cherish their memories of him and the exemplary life he led. He deeply valued the quality education he received at TU, and his children have made a generous gift from his estate to establish The Norman Lee Conger Memorial Endowed Faculty Scholarly Research Fund for the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics.
