Ninette Allen-Maples

Ninette Marie Allen-Maples (BFA ’63; MA ’67) was a talented art student at The University of Tulsa who specialized in painting. She was Alexandre Hogue’s last thesis student at TU.

Allen-Maples led the art program at Holland Hall School for ten years and was a longtime docent at Philbrook Museum, serving as president of the docents for two years. She enjoyed painting well into her mid-80s and also was an expert gardener of orchids, holding a membership in the Tulsa Orchid Society. In 1990, Ninette Allen-Maples established a planned gift to provide scholarships for future students in TU’s School of Art, Design and Art History. Ms. Allen-Maples passed away in 2013, and The University of Tulsa fulfilled her wishes relating to her namesake scholarship fund in 2016.

The TU family is grateful for the caring legacy that Ninette Allen-Maples has left for the deserving art students who are following in her footsteps at The University of Tulsa.
