Linda M. and W. Stuart Price

Wm. Stuart Price and Linda Mitchell Price met as undergraduate students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst during their first week of school. They both attended a meeting about internships in Washington, D.C., a hint of their similar interests that would lead to courtship and marriage. After completing their undergraduate degrees (Stuart in political science and Linda in economics), they moved to Tulsa to attend The University of Tulsa College of Law. Stuart earned his J.D. from TU in 1982, and Linda ultimately earned her J.D. from Western New England School of Law.

Stuart Price is a Tulsa energy industry leader and a proud TU alumnus, and he has been a dedicated supporter of his alma mater, a devoted volunteer for community and educational organizations, and an active participant in Oklahoma politics.

Mr. Price has served as a Board Member or Trustee for a number of community organizations, including Gilcrease Museum, the Tulsa City Parks and Recreation Board, the University Center at Tulsa, the Rogers State College Foundation, and he served as national co-chair for fundraising for the TU College of Law during the New Century Campaign.

Linda Mitchell Price launched a successful legal career in the area of banking, and she was awarded an honorary degree from the TU College of Law in recognition of her career achievements and support of the TU community. Linda eventually made the decision to leave the legal profession to focus on raising the couple’s children and managing the family’s enterprises.

Stuart and Linda Price have generously supported an array of TU programs and initiatives. In 1992, they established the George and Jean Price Endowed Award in Legal Writing and Research in the TU College of Law to honor Mr. Price’s parents. Stuart’s father, George Price (BA ’48, Speech), and his mother, Jean Price, had always stressed the importance of education as an avenue to a promising future. Three of their sons graduated from the TU College of Law: Stuart (’82), John A. (’89), and Robert (’90).

Stuart and Linda also provided the lead gift for the comprehensive renovation of the College of Law’s moot courtroom, which was renamed The Wm. Stuart Price and Michael C. Turpen Courtroom in honor of Mr. Price and his dear friend, Oklahoma City attorney Mike Turpen, who is also a TU alumnus (BS ’72; JD ’75). The Price and Turpen Courtroom is a center of activity at the College of Law.

In 2015, Stuart and Linda Price wanted to support scholarships in the TU College of Law while also extending their funding of The Wm. Stuart Price and Michael C. Turpen Courtroom. As a result, they established two endowment funds, which are known as The Price and Turpen Endowments for Scholarships and Courtroom Maintenance.
