Kenneth L. “Ken” Hancock (BS ’72, MA ’77, PhD ’90) and Leigh Ann Hancock (BS ’84) are loyal alumni and supporters of The University of Tulsa. These accomplished professionals hope that their namesake scholarship funds will help other students achieve their academic and professional goals at TU.
Ken and Leigh Ann have demonstrated their devotion to TU through their generous support of both academics and athletics, with nearly 100 gifts dating back to 1991. They have been recognized as members of the esteemed Chapman Legacy Society, the Circle Society, and the President’s Council.
The Hancocks have many wonderful memories of their time at TU, where they enjoyed unique and life-changing experiences while establishing enduring friendships. After graduating, Ken and Leigh Ann went on to forge successful careers in their respective fields of higher education and accounting.
As an acknowledgment of the influence their TU degrees and experiences had on their lives, Ken and Leigh Ann established a scholarship fund for education majors in the Henry Kendall College of Arts and Sciences in 2011. This important endowment fund is known as the Ken and Leigh Ann Hancock Elementary Education Scholarship Endowment Fund.
In 2012, Ken and Leigh Ann wished to fortify their support of TU by establishing a scholarship for accounting majors, reflecting their interest in Leigh Ann’s field of study, and they decided to accomplish this through TU’s Pioneer Program, a life insurance initiative.
Alexander S. “Alex” Muesenfechter (BSBA ’10, MSF ’12) graciously agreed to serve as the participant for the life insurance gift to be funded by Ken and Leigh Ann Hancock. Alex’s degrees in finance and accounting enabled him to launch a successful career. He remains grateful for the scholarship assistance he received in college, recognizing that this support was a key factor in successfully reaching his goals at TU and beyond.
Through this partnership, the Ken and Leigh Ann Hancock Endowed Scholarship in Accounting was established and will support future accounting majors at The University of Tulsa in perpetuity. The TU family is grateful to these three committed allies, who wish to help future generations of aspiring educators and accountants pursue their goals at The University of Tulsa.
