Jason Krup Grunin is a proud alumnus and former employee of The University of Tulsa (BS ’09; MBA ’12) who has created important opportunities for those who are following in his footsteps at his alma mater.

Grunin enjoyed being involved in campus activities while he was a student, including his work on the university’s efforts to develop sustainable energy policies for the campus. Later, in his role as TU’s Assistant Vice President of Business and Energy, he continued working on that initiative with his colleagues. In fact, the University launched a partnership with Cenergistic, a Dallas-based energy conservation firm, to implement a new energy sustainability program designed to maximize the efficiency of the university’s physical plant services. He also worked on the effort to place a solar power installation on the rooftop of the Mike Case Tennis Center, providing power for the center. TU has been nationally recognized in recent years for its “green” efforts and has been named a Green Power Partner by the EPA.

Jason Grunin continues to be grateful for his family’s support, which made it possible for him to attend The University of Tulsa, and he has established two endowed scholarship funds that will make TU more accessible to others. In 2011, Grunin established the Jason Krup Grunin Endowment for McFarlin Library and Student Scholarships, and in 2018, he established the Jason Krup Grunin Endowed Scholarship Fund. His 2011 endowment will support scholarships, but will also provide support for McFarlin Library, which holds a special place in Grunin’s heart because he recognizes that it is a vital center of learning and a treasured campus landmark.

The University of Tulsa is grateful to this accomplished alumnus who has made it his priority to help others attain the same quality education he enjoyed as a TU student.
