Family of James D. Miller

James D. “Jim” Miller, CPA, graduated from The University of Tulsa in 1966 with a degree in accounting. He went on to a successful and fulfilling career in his chosen field, eventually serving as managing partner of the Tulsa office of Arthur Anderson, a world renowned accounting firm. Mr. Miller retired from Arthur Andersen in 2000 as managing partner, and in 2002, he was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus of The University of Tulsa in recognition of his extraordinary career accomplishments. He was also recognized as an Outstanding Alumnus by the Collins College of Business.

Mr. Miller is a devoted TU alumnus, having served as TU Alumni Association president. His wife, Judy Yates Miller (BS ’67, Home Economics), is also a proud TU graduate. Mr. and Mrs. Miller continue to be avid Golden Hurricane fans, and they have made several gifts to support a wide array of TU programs, including the Collins College of Business, the TURC program, KWGS, TU Uncorked, and several TU Athletics initiatives. Mr. and Mrs. Miller have been recognized as members of the Circle Society, TU’s most esteemed donor affinity organization.

In 1992, Jim Miller’s two daughters, Jill and Julie, made a generous gift in honor of their father to establish the James D. Miller Book Fund. Annually distributed income from this endowed fund supports a need-based book scholarship program for students majoring in accounting.
