Family and Friends of Tom Golden

Thomas F. “Tom” Golden graduated from The University of Tulsa with a juris doctorate in 1968, and he continued to be a proud and devoted supporter of his alma mater throughout his life. As a TU Law student, Tom Golden actively involved himself in student organizations and activities, becoming editor of the Tulsa Law Journal and a member of Phi Alpha Delta, and serving as Treasurer of the Student Bar Association and Chairman of the Honor Council.

Golden enjoyed a long and successful career after graduating from TU, joining Tulsa law firm Hall, Estill, Hardwick, Gable, Golden and Nelson from 1968-2004, first as a lawyer and then as a named partner. Tom Golden specialized in international pipeline negotiations early in his career, followed by real estate development projects later. Golden also served on a statewide committee that researched and recommended candidates for state and federal judgeships, and he enjoyed working on this committee with elected officials, including U.S. Senator Don Nickles. In 2001, he joined his wife’s family business, Midwesco Industries, Inc., where he served as president with his brother-in-law and business partner, the late James A. Bost.

Tom Golden also enjoyed a happy and fulfilling family life with his wife, Beverly Bost Golden, and their three children: Dathel, Laura and Julianne. He also had an array of hobbies, including golf, art in its many forms, horse racing, and international travel, as well as spending time in the family’s home in Pensacola Beach, Florida, and he was an active supporter of the Tulsa Ballet.

Golden was also a strong proponent of community service, volunteering for a number of civic organizations, including serving on the Board of the Oklahoma Arts Institute, the Board of the Tulsa Ballet, the Performing Arts Center Trust, the American Red Cross, Downtown Tulsa Unlimited and Tulsa Boys’ Home, among others.

Tom Golden passed away in August of 2011, and his family continues to treasure their memories of him and the exemplary and enjoyable life he led. Tom Golden deeply valued the quality education he received at The University of Tulsa College of Law. In memory of her husband, Beverly Golden established a namesake scholarship endowment fund for TU law students with gifts that had been made to the University in his memory, including her own generous gifts. This important scholarship fund is known as The Thomas F. Golden Endowed Scholarship in Law.
