The Monte Baggett Accounting Scholarship Fund was established in 1982 through gifts received in memory of Monte R. Baggett, a partner of the Coopers and Lybrand accounting firm. Gifts were made by a number of individuals and entities, including Coopers and Lybrand employees and matching gifts from the Coopers and Lybrand Foundation.
In 2001, Mr. George Schulz, an original contributor and partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, contacted The University of Tulsa and requested that the name of the scholarship be amended to the PricewaterhouseCoopers Monte Baggett Accounting Scholarship.
The University of Tulsa is deeply grateful to the family members, friends and colleagues of Monte Baggett who established this important scholarship for deserving accounting students as a way to pay tribute to his memory and legacy.
