Michael Dexter “Dex” Brown (BSBA ’10) was a lifelong Oklahoman and a proud alumnus of Pryor High School and The University of Tulsa. After graduating from TU’s energy management program, he established a successful career as a landman for Associated Resources in Tulsa. Brown also was a beloved son and brother who enjoyed life and all of its adventures, especially anything related to motor sports and dirt bike racing with his father.

Brown’s family remembers him as a loving and caring person who had an ability to relate to others beyond his years. He appreciated the quality education he received at TU, where he participated in honor societies, clubs related to his major and his fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha.

Brown tragically passed away on June 2, 2012, at the age of 24. His family chose to honor his memory and legacy by creating a permanent source of support for TU energy management students. In fulfillment of this wish, Brown’s family and friends contributed memorial gifts to establish the Michael “Dex” Brown Energy Management Memorial Endowed Scholarship.
