Dwight L. and Vicki Smith

The University of Tulsa alumnus Dwight L. Smith (BA ’78; JD ’81) and his wife, Vicki L. Smith, are loyal friends and supporters of TU who wished to create opportunities for those following in Dwight’s footsteps at his alma mater.

Dwight continues to deeply value the quality education he received at TU and the resulting career opportunities he has enjoyed in the field of law. He currently manages his own private practice, Dwight L. Smith, PLLC.

Dwight and Vicki Smith have generously supported both academics and athletics at TU for many years, including the TU Annual Fund, the College of Law, the Henry Kendall College of Arts and Sciences, the Golden Hurricane Champions Fund, the Thomas Challenge for H.A. Chapman Stadium, TU Uncorked and other programs. Dwight Smith also has given of his time and talent by serving on the Board of Directors of the Tulsa Chapter of the TU Alumni Association.

Calvin M. Moniz is a loyal TU alumnus (BSBA ’06, MBA ’08, JD ’15) who worked at The University of Tulsa for several years before pursuing other career opportunities. Moniz is grateful for the scholarship assistance he received during his college career, recognizing that this support was a key factor that enabled him to complete his studies at TU.

Dwight and Vicki Smith and Calvin Moniz wished to assist others who would like to pursue law degrees at TU in the future. To this end, and as part of The University of Tulsa’s Pioneer Program, Calvin Moniz graciously agreed to serve as the participant for a life insurance gift to be funded by Dwight and Vicki Smith to create an endowment at The University of Tulsa. This endowment is formally known as the Dwight and Vicki Smith Family Scholarship Endowment, which will generate scholarship support for future TU Law students, especially those with a commitment to public service.

The TU family is grateful to these three committed friends, who wish to help future generations of aspiring attorneys pursue their goals at The University of Tulsa College of Law.
