Douglas A. “Doug” Wright and Suzanne D. Wright love Tulsa – and the university that bears the city’s name. The Wrights are native Tulsans, each of whom graduated from Memorial High School before matriculating to The University of Tulsa. Both business majors, they earned their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BBA) degrees in Accounting in 1991 (Doug) and 1992 (Suzanne), and they continue to value the quality academics they enjoyed at TU.
The University of Tulsa was a natural choice for both Doug and Suzanne, since several of their family members also were TU alumni. While TU students, they became actively involved in Greek life, with Suzanne in Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and Doug in the Kappa Alpha Order, and this participation has led to many happy memories and enduring friendships.
Doug and Suzanne Wright married shortly after they graduated from The University of Tulsa, and they went on to forge successful family and professional lives. The couple currently owns four diverse business ventures, including Strategic Solutions Group, Harrison-Wright Oil Company, CoachPort, and Capital Fence.
Doug and Suzanne are the parents of two adult children who followed the family tradition of attending TU and participating in Greek life. MacKenzie Wright Soap earned a BBA in Marketing in 2019 and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Jacob “Jake” Wright earned a BBA in Finance in 2023 and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order.
Doug and Suzanne have given generously of their time and expertise to their alma mater by serving in key volunteer positions, including Doug’s service on the Tulsa Chapter Board of the TU Alumni Association and their joint service on the TU Uncorked Committee of the TU Alumni Association.
They have also financially supported an array of TU programs in both academics and athletics since 1995, including the Golden Hurricane Champions Fund, the TU Annual Fund for the Collins College of Business, and TU Uncorked, among others.
In 2019, Doug and Suzanne Wright created The Wright Family Endowed Scholarship in Business, a need-based scholarship program to assist students working toward degrees in the Collins College of Business.
The University of Tulsa deeply appreciates the loyalty and commitment Doug and Suzanne Wright have shown the university and its programs. Their generous and thoughtful gifts provide a fine example of those who wish to give back in gratitude for their TU experiences.
