The late Leon and Dorothy Mathews established the D. L. Mathews Police Memorial Scholarship in Law in memory of their son, Donald L. Mathews (BS ’69 & JD ’71). Donald Mathews worked for the Tulsa Police Department when he began pursuing his law degree at The University of Tulsa. After graduation, he practiced law in Tulsa and Checotah until he passed away in 1977. This scholarship is intended to perpetuate Donald Mathews’ commitment to fortifying the relationship between the practice of law and law enforcement. Recipients must be associated with the Tulsa Police Department while pursuing a law degree at TU.
