David R. Eastin (BS ’80) is a loyal alumnus and basketball letterman of The University of Tulsa, whose generosity and partnership have fortified TU Athletics programs since 1997. David has also given generously of his time and talent by serving on the TU Board of Trustees (2016-2022).
Eastin’s many gifts through the years have supported the Golden Hurricane Club, the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams, the Football Team, H. A. Chapman Stadium, the Case Athletic Complex, the Neal R. Sweeney Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Women of the Hurricane Club, the Men’s Soccer Program, the Glenn Dobbs Fund for Football Excellence, TU Uncorked, the Finance Excellence Fund, the School of Music, the Student Emergency Fund, Gilcrease Museum, and the TU Letterwinner’s Association, an organization in which he holds a lifetime membership.
In 2011, David and his wife, Tracey A. Eastin, uplifted TU Athletics once again by establishing the David R. Eastin Scholarship Endowment Fund for Student-Athletes, which provides scholarship assistance to deserving student-athletes who are following in Mr. Eastin’s footsteps at TU.
In 2015, the couple invested in the comprehensive renovation of the men’s basketball locker room area, including the long corridor that stretches beyond the locker room toward the basketball court in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. This corridor was transformed from a drab cinderblock-walled walkway into an inspiring “champions’ corridor” with bold graphics and colors to help inspire team members as they prepare to take the court in competition. The couple also funded an endowment for the future maintenance of the locker room and corridor.
In recognition of the Eastins’ magnanimous partnership, the corridor is formally known as the David R. Eastin Family Champions’ Corridor, a name that pays tribute to the entire Eastin family, including David’s son, Peter D. Eastin.
The University of Tulsa is deeply grateful to David and Tracey Eastin for their generosity and leadership. Their support of scholarships and facilities will yield untold benefits in the lives of TU’s student-athletes for many years to come.
