Christina Bishop-Jackson (BS ’05, PhD ’10, Chemical Engineering) and her husband, Glen Jackson (BS ’05, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics), excelled academically at The University of Tulsa, but they also made time to enjoy TU’s many extracurricular activities. Christina participated in vocal music, Greek Life and Mortar Board, and Glen found time to participate in the Student Government Association, The Collegian, and the TURC Scholars program.
After graduation, they both launched exciting and fulfilling careers in their fields, and they wasted no time in giving back to their alma mater to help the next generation of TU students achieve their own goals. The couple has generously supported a wide array of programs at TU, including the College of Engineering and Computer Science Annual Fund, the Department of Chemical Engineering Annual Fund, the Golden Hurricane Champions Fund, the Women of the Hurricane Club, the TU Graduate School, and the TU Uncorked annual fundraiser for the TU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
In 2013, Christina and Glen made a substantial gift to establish their own namesake scholarship fund: The Dr. Christina J. Bishop and Mr. Glen N. Jackson Endowed Scholarship Fund for Chemical Engineering and Computer Science. With this important endowment gift, their generosity will be sustained for generations to come. The University of Tulsa is grateful to this philanthropic couple, who have made it a priority to help those following in their footsteps at their alma mater.
