Charles J. Mountford

Charles J. Mountford, Sr. (BS ’72, Petroleum Engineering; MS ’74, Petroleum Engineering) is an accomplished alumnus of The University of Tulsa who has spent much of his career as a petroleum engineer at ONEOK Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Mountford worked for Transok Inc. and for Oil Capital Land & Exploration.

Originally from Chicago, Charles was active on campus during his days at TU, joining the petroleum engineering honor society, Pi Epsilon Tau, and participating in the TU student chapter of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME).

Mr. Mountford is clearly a person who uses his own achievements as a basis to provide opportunities for others. In 2007, he established the Charles and Carol Mountford Scholarship Endowment Fund for Petroleum Engineering at TU. Before that, he contributed to the James P. Brill Pooled Presidential Scholarship Endowment Fund for Petroleum Engineering and the Kermit Brown Petroleum Engineering Scholarship Fund, scholarship programs that honor the legacies of two of TU’s most beloved and talented petroleum engineering professors.

The University of Tulsa appreciates Charles Mountford’s generous support and his desire to benefit the students who follow him in TU’s petroleum engineering program.
