Charles E. Hudson

Major Charles E. Hudson, USAF (Retired), was assigned to lead The University of Tulsa’s Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Program as a Master Sergeant from 1949 to 1953, and he helped many TU students reach their goals during that time. He passed away in 2016, but his generosity continues to help TU students fulfill their aspirations through his namesake scholarship fund.

In 1999, Hudson established the Charles E. Hudson, Major (Retired), USAF, Master Sergeant at TU’s AFROTC Program, 1949-1953 Endowed Scholarship Fund at TU. In April of 2003, he communicated his plans to make an additional scholarship gift to TU, and he agreed to combine his new contribution with the original gift to create a presidential scholarship endowment. This fund is now formally known as the Charles E. Hudson, Major (Retired), USAF, Master Sergeant at TU’s AFROTC Program, 1949-1953 Endowed Presidential Scholarship Fund.

Major Charles E. Hudson Presidential Scholars will continue to cherish the opportunities provided by this important namesake scholarship fund for generations to come. The TU family is grateful for the generosity of this caring philanthropist, who left an important legacy of support for TU’s deserving and talented students.
