Certified Public Accountant Carol S. Mountford (BS ’73, Accounting) is a loyal alumna of The University of Tulsa. Carol worked for many years in Tulsa as an accountant at Sinclair Tulsa Refining Company, now called the HF Sinclair Corp. Active in the accounting industry, she was honored by the Oklahoma Society of Public Accountants for her forty years of membership in 2017.
Carol is also involved in the Tulsa community, giving freely of her time and her resources to several Tulsa-area nonprofits, including the Child Abuse Network (CAN) and Iron Gate, a local agency that feeds those struggling with homelessness.
The University of Tulsa has also been the beneficiary of Carol’s caring support. In 2007, she thoughtfully established the Charles and Carol Mountford Scholarship Endowment Fund for Petroleum Engineering. Before that, Carol supported the James P. Brill Pooled Presidential Scholarship Endowment Fund for Petroleum Engineering and the Kermit Brown Petroleum Engineering Scholarship Fund, programs named after two of TU’s most beloved and talented petroleum engineering professors.
Carol’s generosity is deeply appreciated by The University of Tulsa community. Her philanthropy will be sustained by her namesake endowment fund, which will support deserving petroleum engineering students for generations to come.
