Bill G. Blair (BS ’50, Accounting) was a loyal alumnus of The University of Tulsa who took advantage of the GI Bill after World War II to complete his college education. After receiving his degree, he began a 35-year career with Marathon Oil. In 1993, he established an endowment for the Bill G. Blair Endowed Chair in Business Administration.

He continued to build this faculty endowment, while also supporting McFarlin Library’s Department of Special Collections through his membership in the McFarlin Fellows.

Blair chose to further strengthen the College of Business Administration (now known as the Collins College of Business) with two additional endowment gifts, which are known as the Bill G. Blair Endowed Scholarships in Accounting (1998) and the Bill G. Blair Endowed Excellence Fund for the College of Business Administration (2008). Mr. Blair passed away in 2013 at the age of 86, but his namesake endowments will continue to strengthen the Collins College of Business for generations to come.
