Beverly K. Smith (JD ’87) was an exceptional student at The University of Tulsa College of Law, and she went on to have an exceptional career, reaching the status of partner in the prominent Oklahoma law firm of Conner & Winters.
Beverly received a number of accolades and awards while attending TU’s law school, including being named to the Order of the Curule Chair, working on the Tulsa Law Journal, and receiving the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Award for Outstanding Law Student in 1986.
As an attorney at Conner & Winters, Smith specializes in representing publicly owned companies in commercial real estate transactions, handling a broad range of business transactions, and helping individuals and families with their estate planning and related matters.
In spite of her demanding career, Smith has stayed connected to her alma mater and has given her time, talent and financial resources to help TU Law succeed. Ms. Smith served a term as President of the TU Law Alumni Association, and she has generously supported the TU Annual Fund for the College of Law, the Mabee Legal Information Center, an endowed lecture series, and law scholarships named for prominent alumni and friends of TU Law.
In 2018, Beverly Smith wished to establish her own scholarship fund through a planned gift to provide financial assistance to those following in her footsteps, and she created the Beverly K. Smith Endowed Scholarship in Law. This need-based scholarship is dedicated to supporting full-time law students at TU. The University of Tulsa is grateful that Ms. Smith’s caring generosity will create important opportunities for our Beverly K. Smith Law Scholars for generations to come.
