In 1999, the AT&T Foundation joined with TU to strengthen the educational mission of the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences (now known as the College of Engineering and Computer Science) through the establishment of a permanently endowed presidential scholarship fund. This fund was originally known as the SBC Foundation Presidential Scholarship Fund, but in 2010, the name was changed to the AT&T Foundation Presidential Scholarship in Engineering and Natural Sciences.
