Ashley E. Jorishie Lastinger (BS ’08, Petroleum Engineering; MEB ’20) excelled in her studies in petroleum engineering at The University of Tulsa, but she also made it a point to involve herself in several extracurricular activities on campus. During her undergraduate years, Ashley was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and she was involved in Engineers Without Borders, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, and the TU Student Association (as a Senator and Parliamentarian). These activities helped her to develop important career skills, but they also enabled her to build enduring friendships.
Ashley launched a successful engineering career in the energy industry in 2008, before earning her Master of Energy Business degree at TU in 2020 and making the move to an executive position at Amazon in 2021. She continues to be grateful for the excellent education she received at TU and for her family’s support and encouragement, which helped her to achieve her academic goals.
In 2011, Ashley wanted to make a quality TU education accessible to others, especially those wishing to pursue a degree in petroleum engineering, while also paying meaningful tribute to her family. As part of The University of Tulsa’s Pioneer Program, she established a life insurance gift to create The Ashley Jorishie Family Scholarship Endowment Fund.
The University of Tulsa is grateful to this accomplished and giving alumna, who has made the most of her TU degrees while creating opportunities for those who will someday follow in her footsteps at her alma mater.
