Anke E. and Lawrence H. Dodson

Lawrence H. “Larry” Dodson and Anke E. Dodson are successful individuals who have enjoyed sharing their success with those around them. While each has lived and worked in other cities, they both love Tulsa and are supporting the city’s namesake university with a generous planned gift.

Although neither attended The University of Tulsa, Larry and Anke established a scholarship fund in 2004 for future TU students who will be seeking degrees in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Clearly, each of them understands the value of a quality education, and their gift will provide need-based support for deserving students.

Anke is originally from Germany, and her talents lie in the fine arts. A printmaker and well-known watercolorist who paints landscapes and cityscapes, Anke’s work was juried into the 2017 and 2018 National Watercolor shows. In 2023, Anke was part of an exhibit at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame’s Gaylord-Pickens Museum featuring five Oklahoma artists. Her work has appeared in several virtual galleries, including the Bauhausprairieartgallery.com, the Tulsa Artists Guild (TAG), the Oklahoma Artists Coalition, and the Eva Reynolds Gallery of Fine Arts in Leawood, Kansas. Anke is represented by the Royce Myers Gallery in Tulsa. Anke also shares her knowledge and her artistic talent by teaching classes at institutions such as Tulsa’s Philbrook Museum of Art.

The University of Tulsa appreciates the thoughtful planning of these caring friends.
