Thad A. Satterfield (BA ’90) and Andrea E. Satterfield (BA ’90) are loyal alumni of The University of Tulsa who have given generously of their time, talents, and financial resources to support their alma mater.
After their graduations from TU, the Satterfields went on to successful careers, utilizing the knowledge they gained in their studies and the contacts they developed at TU. Thad started his career as an educator, serving as a teacher, principal, and headmaster in both the public and private school sectors for 13 years. He then went to work for the Bartlesville Regional United Way as the Chief Executive Officer, before joining ConocoPhillips and then Phillips 66 in leadership positions. Thad then went to work for Service King in Dallas, Texas, before joining his current company, ATI Physical Therapy in Dallas.
Andrea has been a devoted teacher for more than three decades, working for many years in the Bartlesville School District, before joining the Frisco School District after the couple moved to the Dallas area.
Thad proudly maintains a close relationship with The University of Tulsa through his volunteer work on the TU Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board for the Collins College of Business, the Henry Kendall College of Arts and Sciences Board of Visitors, and as a utulsa connect mentor. Andrea also serves on the Kendall College of Arts and Sciences Board of Visitors, and she serves as a True Blue Alumni Volunteer.
Thad and Andrea Satterfield recognize the overwhelmingly positive influence their degrees and experiences as TU students continue to have on their lives, and the fact that higher education can be an important factor in the success of any individual.
In 2011, the Satterfields established two scholarship funds in conjunction with TU’s Pioneer Program, a life insurance initiative. The Thad and Andrea Satterfield Family Endowed Scholarship Fund for the Collins College of Business and the Thad and Andrea Satterfield Family Endowed Scholarship Fund for Education will create important opportunities for students pursuing careers in business and education.
The University of Tulsa is grateful to these loyal alumni, who have given so much of themselves to create bright futures for those who will follow them on TU’s campus in the years to come.
