Amy Berry England

Amy Berry England (MBA ’11) is a proud alumna and former employee of The University of Tulsa. England has found her association with The University of Tulsa to be extremely fulfilling, and the university will always hold special significance in her life as a place where she built her career, pursued a graduate degree, and established enduring friendships. After reaching the position of Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement, England left TU in 2019 to pursue another opportunity in the field of education development.

As part of the Pioneer Program, Amy created two life insurance gifts to benefit The University of Tulsa: the A. Gale Sullenberger Annual Fund Endowment for the Collins College of Business and the Frances Lindsay Patterson Endowed Scholarship Fund for the Collins College of Business.

A. Gale Sullenberger Annual Fund Endowment for the Collins College of Business
Through her prior duties as the director of development for the Collins College of Business, England worked closely with A. Gale Sullenberger, distinguished dean of the college from 1999 until 2018. She and Sullenberger achieved many important advancement goals, including renaming the business college to the Collins College of Business and the business building to Helmerich Hall in tribute to Fulton Collins and Walter Helmerich III, two remarkable philanthropists who helped lead TU’s business programs to new heights and accomplishments. England’s partnership with Sullenberger also resulted in unprecedented fundraising for the MBA program and record numbers of Annual Fund Challengers for the college. In 2012, she wished to honor the dean in a way that would benefit the college’s Annual Fund, and she established a life insurance gift to create the A. Gale Sullenberger Annual Fund Endowment for the Collins College of Business.

Frances Lindsay Patterson Endowed Scholarship Fund for the Collins College of Business
Frances Lindsay Patterson (BS ’43) is a native Tulsan and proud and loyal alumna of The University of Tulsa, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business. Patterson was an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and continued her involvement in the organization as an alumna. She has many pleasant memories of her TU days and appreciates the quality education she received there. After earning her TU degree, Patterson became a devoted civic volunteer, donating her time to worthwhile programs and projects in the community.

Throughout her life, Patterson has maintained a strong commitment to and deep respect for higher education as an avenue for personal success and opportunity, especially for women. In celebration of her 89th birthday on June 7, 2010, Patterson’s three loving grandchildren, Lisa Marie Coffey, Amy Berry England, and John Rawson Berry, honored their grandmother by establishing the Frances Lindsay Patterson Endowed Scholarship Fund for the Collins College of Business.
