Amanda R. Aragon

Amanda R. Aragon (BS ’09, International Business and Language; BA ’09, Spanish) excelled in her studies at The University of Tulsa, but she also enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in extracurricular activities on campus.

Amanda was active in Greek life at TU, making many friends and memories as a member and president of Delta Delta Delta sorority, and she was active in the TU Student Association (now known as the Student Government Association). Amanda also was a TU Letterwinner, earning this distinction for her work as an athletic equipment manager for the Men’s Soccer Team.

After her graduation, Amanda launched a successful career working at ConocoPhillips in Texas and in her home state of New Mexico, before going to work in the public service sector. She now serves as Executive Director of NewMexicoKidsCAN, a nonprofit organization that advocates for community-informed, student-centered, and research-backed education policies to benefit the children of New Mexico.

As a first-generation college graduate, Amanda remains deeply grateful to her alma mater for providing her with an exceptional college experience that helped her achieve her goals and make her family proud. She currently gives of her time and talent by serving on the TU Alumni Association Board of Directors.

In 2011, Amanda Aragon established a life insurance gift through TU’s Pioneer Program to create an endowment, known as the Amanda Aragon Endowed Scholarship Fund. With this scholarship program, Amanda will provide financial assistance to deserving TU students for generations to come, with an emphasis on first-generation college students involved in the TU Greek System.

The University of Tulsa is grateful to this accomplished alumna, who worked hard to achieve her goals and has arranged to give a helping hand to those who will follow in her footsteps.
