Amanda K. Shank

The University of Tulsa experience is a family affair for many of our students and alumni, and that is certainly the case for Amanda K. Shank (BSBA ’10, Accounting and Finance). Amanda is an enthusiastic alumna who excelled in the classroom and in extracurricular activities on campus when she was a student, and she feels her family helped make her time at TU so successful.

Amanda has wonderful memories of her college days at The University of Tulsa, including the excellent instruction she received in her business studies and the enduring friendships she made through her participation in the TU Capella Singers, the Greek Council, Mortar Board, and the University Ambassadors.

She credits her family with helping her to make the most of her time at TU. Amanda remains deeply grateful to her parents, Larry and Karen Shank, who encouraged her to achieve academic excellence while also pursuing her interest in the arts, and who made sacrifices to provide her with an exceptional college experience at TU.

She also appreciates her brother, Andrew A. Shank (BS ’02, Exercise Sports Science; MBA ’05; JD ’08), and her sister-in-law, Brooke Lackey Shank (BSBA ’04, Management; MBA ’09), who blazed the trail for her at TU and offered her valuable advice, encouragement, and insight as she pursued her academic goals.

In 2011, Amanda Shank established a life insurance gift through TU’s Pioneer Program to create an endowment, known as The Shank Family Endowed Scholarship Fund. With this scholarship program, Amanda hopes to help future students in the Collins College of Business pursue the same wonderful experiences at TU that she enjoyed as a student. She also hopes to extend her family’s legacy of support for higher education as an important avenue to a success.
